Microsoft Kinect was a runaway success, although it was not launched at a sweet-spot price. Now, Microsoft has announced a Kinect Price Cut, so that it is available for a price of $110, which is $40 cheeper than its original price. As of now, this Kinect price drop is only in the US, but Microsoft has assured the price cut will follow in North America, Latin America and Pacific Asia. The rest of the regions will have to wait, but we expect that a similar price cut will also be seen in the remaining regions.
The Kinect Price Cut is not as much as we could have hoped for, but still is a decent drop. It looks like Microsoft is leaving scope for a another price cut down the lane, probably near the end of the Xbox 360 life cycle and the coming of the successor of the Xbox 360, so that it can go out with a bang.
