HTC has been going through a rough patch as of late. HTC has reported profits down 68% from the last quarter, and it looks like HTC is really going to have to buckle up, as it will be having an even harder time with the entry of the Nexus 4 in the mobile market, which is looking to shake up the competition with its awesome specs, but perfect price.

HTC had managed to produce a marvelous phone in the form of the HTC One X, but this was not able to solve the wows of the Taiwanese manufacturers. HTC has decided to shift its attention towards a slightly different market, and market their new HTC Windows 8 Phone.

HTC has come out with the HTC 8x, which will be HTC’s flagship phone in the Windows Phone 8 arena. It will be a direct competition to the Nokia Lumia 920. But this isn’t the real battle. The battle is actually between Windows Phone 8 and its competing OSs, to see who will reign supreme.

But for what its worth, HTC has produced a sound phone in the HTC 8X. Let us shed some light on it for you.

HTC 8X Specs

The HTC 8x is having specifications which are at par, if not better then its competition. It is having dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, with 1 GB of RAM. The phone has an ultra high resolution 4.3 inch display having a resolution of 1280×720. It comes with an 8 MP camera, and a 1.3 MP rear camera. These specs of the HTC 8X may not look high compared to the Android based competition, but it is to be noted, that the HTC 8X runs smoother then its competition due to better software-hardware interaction.

HTC 8X Price

The HTC 8X will be priced a standard price point for $199 on contract with T-mobile. This price may be standard, but it is a shame compared to the $99 Price point of the Nokia Lumia 920. Since the Nokia Lumia 920 vs HTC 8X are similarly speced, this price advantage may help tilt the sales in the direction towards Nokia Lumia 920. It is to bee noted, that Nokia has already seen success in the form of the Nokia Lumia 900.

The unlocked version of the HTC 8X, is reportedly $599, although this is not confirmed.

HTC 8X Release Date

The release date of the HTC 8X varies from carrier to carrier, but all major carriers will have it available in Q4, more specifically in the month of November. We will update this post as soon as more information is available.

HTC 8X vs Nokia Lumia 920

The stiffest competition for the HTC 8X is the Nokia Lumia 920 . The Nokia Lumia 920 is not only better priced, but also has a larger screen size. On top of this, Nokia has a huge advantage that they are using the Pureview technology, which is an excellent point in favor of the Lumia. Nokia’s track record with the Lumia 900 and 800 also gives a good impression for the Nokia Lumia 920.

Personally, we think that the Lumia 920 is a better deal, but time and luck will see how the battle of the Windows 8 Phone results. HTC needs a win the the HTC 8X so as to get into a better financial situation. We will keep you posted on this.
